WRITING PHILOSOPHY: I subscribe to the “10,000-hour rule” mentioned in Malcolm Gladwell’s Outliers, which posits that the foundation of success is 10,000 hours (~5-10 years) of hard work, honing, and perseverance.

MOST ADMIRED COMPANIES: Newman’s Own (for philanthropy), TOMS (for social entrepreneurship), and Netflix (for innovation).

BIGGEST ASPIRATION: Fulfilling God’s plan for my life.

VALUES: Joy, adventure, and purpose.

BEST DECISION: Pursuing higher education. I’m an alumna of NYU and the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.

FAVORITE MOVIE: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof starring Paul Newman and Elizabeth Taylor.

FAVORITE RADIO STATION: KLOVE.

GREATEST INSPIRATION: Jesus Christ.

FAVORITE BOOK: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.

FAVORITE QUOTE: Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them (attributed to Henry David Thoreau).

MEASURES OF SUCCESS: Helping people achieve their potential, contributing to meaningful projects that are personally exciting, maintaining work/life balance, and developing purposeful partnerships.

MISSED OPPORTUNITY: Not pursuing my interest in writing ten years ago.

FAVORITE CAUSES: Arts & education, financial literacy, and affordable housing.

BUCKET LIST: Researching my family history and living in France for at least a year.
